Conventional wisdom holds that a state-of-the-art home theater is, of necessity, a dedicated home theater. And, conversely, that the performance of a high-end two-channel music system will invariably be degraded with the addition of home theater components. Bringing home the emotional impact of live music through two-channel reproduction has been the organizing passion of Wilson Audio since it’s inception more than three decades ago. Applying the same focus and expertise to multi-channel theater systems was simply the natural extension of that passion.

A primary design objective of the Wilson WATCH system was to turn conventional wisdom on its head. Each WATCH System component is built with the same fanatical attention to sonic performance as our loudspeakers, and will seamlessly integrate with even our largest loudspeakers to create a totally immersive experience, whether the source is music or movies. Why compromise the quality of either music listening or your home theater when the WATCH components make it easy to enjoy the best of both worlds in one system?  Introducing the second generation of WATCH components. Watching movies at home will never be the same.

The Center 3.s front baffle is angled upward, directing the sound more correctly at the listener’s ears, especially important when the Center is mounted low, beneath a screen. The Center 3 utilizes X-Material in both tweeter and woofer enclosures. S-Material, Wilson’s latest composite first used in the Sasha, now finds its place in the Center 3’s mid-woofer baffle. The new cabinet minimizes enclosure resonances and enhances the Center’s settling characteristics, allowing for better microdynamics and deeper shades of black.

The new WATCH Wall Mount Speaker uses the Sophia Series 2 tweeter, already legendary for its precision and musicality. The Wall Mount Speaker also incorporates the anti-jitter crossover technology which underlies the astonishingly grain-free transparency and musicality of full-size Wilson loudspeakers.

The second generation WATCH Dog subwoofer has undergone the most radical redesign of any of the WATCH system components. Specifically, it has been transformed from an active subwoofer (with a built-in amplifier), to a passive, unamplified unit. Two considerations drove the design change: Quality and Flexibility.

. . .

If you desire to use the WATCH Dog in a hybrid or multiple configuration system, then the external controller becomes the brains behind that flexibility, whether you’re using one subwoofer or several.

In Movie Mode, the low frequency effects output from your processor goes directly through the controller to the WATCH Dog.

Switching to Music Mode (accomplished either with a front panel toggle or a 12 volt trigger), the controller becomes a feature-rich crossover and equalizer. You can control both crossover frequency and slope. A continuously variable phase control and EQ functions complete the features necessary to seamlessly integrate a WATCH Dog with any pair of Wilson loudpseakers.
